    B and E are eliminated because of the usage of the word “symbolizing” against “symbolized”, C and D don’t have a comma before “which”, also “which was the land” means its not the land now. Hence A

    C for repetitive which ....

    hence B ...return of ppl symbolized the poss of freedom ...nt the land itself...

    I find B not appropriate because it denotes that returning to Africa is symbolising freedom.

    I will stick to A.
