It cannot be A and C because of the "basing them" which is not proper usage, B and D are wrong because they are talking about the evidence of North Indians rather than Calendars. So the answer is E
"Basing them" is wrong usage because this has happened in past, eliminate A and C, B and D has misplaced modifier and says that "calendar stick is the evidence of North American Indians" rather than the full year calendar, evidence that + clause is correct hence E
(E) is the most terse n concise option acc to me ....
E is the best suitable choice...
